About Studio Jindo

I'm Michelle! Your photographer for Studio Jindo.

After Studying photography, I started the first ten years of my career as a marketing/product photographer and retoucher. Studio Jindo was born out of my love for animals. My dog Mochi, a Jindo mix rescue from South Korea, was the #1 inspiration behind Studio Jindo.

Taking candid photos of both my own and family's pets was a hobby that I loved. But when I got my first dog, Mochi, taking photos of her became not just a hobby, but a journal of her development from the terrified meat-trade rescue to the confident dog she is today.

Throughout my time with her we started a training journey that taught me so much about dog behaviour, and animal behaviour as a whole. Comparing a photo of her first day to the present is a huge difference. The way she expresses herself has completely changed, and I love seeing her light up when she recognizes a person she knows. Seeing this change in her inspired me to capture this in other dogs and animals, how they act when they are truly relaxed, excited, or when they are in the presence of the humans they love the most!
